Lene Marlin put out yesterday a smaller taste from her forthcoming album on the internet.
It was without a prewarning that the Tromsø artist yesterday evening put out a new song on her MySpace page on the internet, straight from the studio.
- To give you an idea of what I'm doing, I thought I should share a new song with you, the artist herself writes on the net.
The song, entitled "You Will Cry No More", is being well received by VG's music reviewer Stein Østbø, who's giving Lene a dice roll of 5 in today's edition of the paper. This, of course, is contributing to building up the expectations for her fourth album, which according to the plan will be relased during 2009.
Great abroad
Lene Marlin does not just have a great name here in Norway, but also abroad. In Italy she has had great success, with several singles in the top charts.
The Italian fan-club had, just a few hours following the song being out on the internet, updated their webpages with a mentioning of the new song.
- This is a significant event on the road to Lene's next album, and it could give some hints on her new sound, the Italians are writing on their website.
- Thank you Lene for this special gift!, they continue in an ecstatic manner.
Have sold over 2 million
Lene Marlin broke through in a serious manner with the single "Unforgivable Sinner" in 1998, which was crowned Song of the year during the Spellemann awards the same year. The following year, she won the MTV European Award for best nordic artist.
The debut album "Playing My Game" came in 2000 (1999! - editor's note), and collected together with the single "Sitting Down Here" a whole four prizes during the Spellemann awards.
She followed up with the album "Another Day" in 2003, where she went to the top of Top 20 with the single "You Weren't There".
In 2005 the album "Lost In A Moment" was released, which has contributed to her selling over 2 million records worldwide. She has also co-operated with well-known pop artists like Rihanna and the Swiss Lovebugs.
However, it has been quiet from the artist the latter years, but now she's soon ready with her fourth album.
