Venn on the sales top |
Source : VG |
In less than a week, 42.155 Norwegians have secured the double album 'Venn'. This gives an income of over five million NKR.
- These are very wonderful figures. If 50.000 goes, it will be about six million NKR, and that is fantastic, says promotion responsible Lage Fosheim to VG.
The double album 'Venn' entered the stores last Tuesday, and during the week and the weekend 42.155 copies went over the counter. The album is counted as a collection, and naturally is topping that list.
The Norwegian 'Band Aid' project is also crushing the sales figures of John Legend, whom is topping the VG chart with the album 'Get Lifted'.
- We are selling five times as much as the first place on the vG chart. We do hope, of course, that this will continue, and I believe it's realistic to be selling somewhere between 50.000 and 100.000. Then we'd have five to ten million NKR, says publicity spokeswoman Marianne Antonsen at the gramophone artists' union, GramArt, to VG.
Everything of income from the Norwegian 'Band Aid' project will unabridged go to the Norwegian Red Cross and their work in the severely hit Aceh province in Indonesia.
The single 'Venn' also has a high rotation on most of the radio channels. It is A-listed on channels like P3 and Kanal 24, and it has climbed all the way to the top on the Hit40 chart. Thus, there are also compensation money being generated that will go into the project.
