You Weren't There

It's the comeback single for Lene Marlin, after more than three years of silence, and almost four years since the release of her previous single, Where I'm Headed. It's the first exctract from Lene's second work, the album Another Day.
You Weren't There was aired for the first time on italian radios on July 18th 2003. The world première of the video, shot in Stockholm, took place in Norway on July 26th. It's a particular videoclip because the sequences of the story are presented in an inverted chronological order.
The single was out in stores in Italy on Sept. 5th 2003, and it became Lene's first breaker single ever in Italy, reaching #1 on the chart the very first week, on Sept. 13th. It has stayed in the Top 10 for seven weeks, and left the Top 50 after twenty-one weeks, on Feb. 2nd, 2004 (that is, after five months), getting very close to gold sellings (25'000 copies).
The single breaks the chart in Norway too the week after its exploit in Italy, staying at #1 for two weeks. This indeed is less than the 8 weeks that Unforgivable Sinner spent at #1 back in 1998, but on the other hand You Weren't There set another absolute record in the Norwegian music history, staying for 13 weeks at the very top of Hit40, the norwegian radio airplay chart!
The single had a lot of success in some Asian countries too, especially China, where it has reached up to #2 on the chart.
